Apsley Racing Club

Established in 1855, the Apsley Racing Club is now the oldest surviving racing club in Victoria.

 

This year, the DiGiorgio Family Wines Apsley Cup Day, will be celebrating 161 years on Sunday 12 June 2016 at the Edenhope Racecourse. It will be great family day out, thrilling horse racing, kids activities, fashions on the field and more!  Everyone will love it!

Apsley a little treasure, is located half way between Melbourne and Adelaide on the Wimmera Highway, 7km from the South Australian border.

The World Heritage Naracoorte Limestone Caves and the Coonawarra Winery region lie across the border, a short drive away.

Surrounded by beautiful red gums, wetlands, flora and fauna, all found in their natural environments, Apsley is a scenic, relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Lake Bringalbert and Newlands Lake
The major natural attractions near Apsley are the two lakes - Lake Bringalbert (10 km from town) and Newlands Lake which is on the outskirts of the town. Both lakes have good picnic facilities and are known in the local area for their fishing.

Border Inn  - 

The Border Inn Hotel is a bar with an open dining room. We also have a function room used for special occasions or conferences/meetings which is a stand out feature.

 We are open 7 days a week from 10am.

 Lunch and dinner are available from 12noon – 2pm and 6pm – 8.30pm Vic time.

 We have limited menus only on public holidays.

 The Border Inn is also a café. We serve Mahalia coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milkshakes, along with house made cakes and slices all day.

 We have a small “shop” equipped with essentials and refrigerated items.

 We provide disabled facilities with wheelchair access and a bathroom. There is also a baby changing table available.

 We offer free WiFi for customers.
