The Club holds this annual event to support a feature racing event on the calendar in April. The 'Blue Ribbon Foundation was formed in recognition of Police Officers who gave their life in the line of duty helping to make Victoria a safer place.
The Blue Ribbon Foundation formerly known as the Tynan Eyre Foundation was formed on Remembrance Day on 11/11/1988.
The Bendigo Jockey Club together with Victoria Police work jointly together to promote the raceday with funds raised on the day to be directed to the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
