Described as a small country town with a 'lively spirit' it is no wonder that the first racecourse in Donald is rumored to have been down the main the street of the town - what a tradition.
Racing at Donald has changed somewhat from those days and the racecourse is now located just on the outskirts of town. The track itself boasts a long wide straight and long runs to the first turn from all starting positions, giving every horse a chance to win. The facilities and surrounds at Donald are among the best in the region and the beautifully kept gardens make it one of the prettiest too.
With the new 2010/2011 season upon us, Donald is host to six race meetings. The season jumps into action with Saturday racing at its finest on the 4th September, then we're back at Donald for midweek racing on the 11th October. However, undoubtedly the most anticipated event on the Donald racing calendar is the Donald Cup, Sunday 14th November. The Donald Cup features live music and entertainment, marquee and hospitality options, free kids activities, fashions on the field, fun in the sun and much much more.
Racing at Donald continues through Summer and the remainder of the year with meetings on Monday 6th December, Saturday 9th July and Saturday 30th July.
