Geelong St Patrick's Racing Club

Geelong St Patrick’s Racing Club has a very proud history in Geelong, having been racing for over 100 years.. The club holds a race meeting during Autumn and is part of the Festival of Racing. Geelong St Pats is actively involved in the Geelong community. The Geelong St Patrick’s Gold Cup is awarded to the winning horse in the 1400m cup field – the distance was changed in 2008 in the hope of attracting a larger field to the race. On-course punters can enjoy a variety of packages in marquees, dining areas, purchasing delicious food from on course caterers or by bringing your own picnic and sitting on the lawn. The food produced by the on course catering team is among the best in Geelong. The local charities which the club supports have included Anam Cara House, Barwon Youth Accommodation Service, Vincentian House and St John of God Health Care. The Club is a sponsor of Time for Youth, a charity which it has supported for the past five years. Time for Youth makes a difference in the lives of young people and their families who are in crisis. Aged 12-24, these young people are provided with a range of services including: Crisis accommodation, youth housing and support, meals, development of life skills, counselling, mediation and support for parents. Time for Youth provides crisis housing at Mt Duneed and Colac. The committee includes local business men and women and our sponsors are local businesses. Membership of the club is available by completing a form on line

  • Gates open at 12.00pm - First Race Bendigo 1.00pm; First Race Randwick 1.17pm;  First Race Geelong 1.55pm
  • Bars open from 12.00pm to 6.15pm;
  • Lunch begins at 1.00pm; Drinks Packages begin at 12.45pm to 6.00pm

Melbourne CBD to Geelong Racecourse on Breakwater Rd, Breakwater, takes approx 1 hr 10 min

Ample car parking is provided at the course.
TRAIN Trains run frequently from Melbourne Southern Cross Station to Geelong. The closest station to the racecourse is South Geelong Station. The journey takes approx 1 hr 5 mins

Saturday trains leave Southern Cross at: 11.00am and 12.00pm
A bus service will travel from the South Geelong Railway Station to the racecourse. The bus will collect passengers at 12.05pm; 1.10pm
The bus must be pre-booked by ringing 0409 007913

Saturday trains leave South Geelong at:5.28pm 6.28pm
A bus will collect passengers from the racecourse and deliver passengers to the railway station. The bus will leave the racecourse at  5.00pm and 6.00pm.

Membership of Geelong St Patrick's Racing Club costs $20pa.

Geelong St Pats Members can gain entrance to other race clubs during the season 2013/2014 by paying admission at the gate and then presenting your membership card at the Race Day and Ticketing Office for the following clubs:
