Nhill (Wimmera RC)

What better way to continue on the Christmas fun and games than at the 2010 Jim’s Butchery/Luv-A-Duck Nhill Cup. The description ‘family day’ has never been more fitting than at the Boxing Day Races @ Nhill. Like most country towns, Nhill’s population grows remarkably over the festive season and the races provide a great opportunity to catch-up with friends and family – It is no wonder that the Nhill bar turns over quite literally a truck load of stock during the day…. tis the season to be jolly after all (tra la la la la….)

Over the years, the support from the Nhill community and Local Area Committee has been amazing seeing the event grow from strength to strength and it continues to raise the bar in the Wimmera. The loyal support of many local sponsors and the time and effort of many locals has ensured this day is a success and one not to be missed.

The Jim’s Butchery/Luv-A-Duck Nhill Cup has a very relaxed, chilled-out atmosphere making it a popular day for all ages. The Racecourse surrounds are in excellent condition with vast green lawns and bright funky shade sales adding a touch of colour to the area. The Nhill Boxing Day Races is a 7-Race program with the Cup traditionally being run around 4.30pm. There are full catering, tote and bar facilities available on-course as well as free kids activities to keep the young ones entertained. Last year the club found huge success with an ‘After Band’ playing after the last race and getting everyone into the party mood – something we will definitely be doing again this year.
