The upcoming ANZAC Day long weekend is packed full of racing action and entertainment, with a total of 8 thoroughbred race meetings taking place in country Victoria over the three days.
With race days at Ararat, Yarra Valley, Avoca, Moe, Wangaratta, Swan Hill, Apsley and Bendigo, the weekend is a great opportunity to explore some of Victoria’s most picturesque regions, while also taking time out to experience a great day out at the country races.
6 race meetings will take place across the state on ANZAC Day, and the on-course entertainment at all events will feature traditional ANZAC Day activities including 2UP, the Last Post and Australian National Anthem played live, flag-raising ceremonies and military vehicle parades.
As part of the celebrations, all jockeys riding horses carrying the Number 1 saddlecloth at the ANZAC Day race meetings will be wearing a special set of ANZAC Day commemorative colours.
Each racing club has a range of great package options to suit all needs and budgets, or for a more laid back day simply pack a picnic and find a spot on the lawn.
