The Pakenham Picnic Racing Club owes its origins to the Bourke family, who in 1875 formed the Club. The Pakenham Picnic Racing club New Year’s Day Race Meeting is a place where families and friends meet to celebrate the New Year in a relaxed atmosphere. Marquees and Gazebo tents line the Race track where picnics are enjoyed whilst watching and cheering on the Local races.

Fashions on the field plus Kids activities form a major part of the Day, along with the Punter’s Club and the lucky Racebook Draw for a large Television.  BYO  picnics are encouraged, and BYO drink is allowable on this day also .Food stalls , including a BBQ and Devonshire Teas will be available.

There will be 6 local races  with bookmakers and TAB available.

Coming from Melbourne on the Pakenham Bypass, take the 3rd exit into Pakenham, left turn,  which is Racecourse road.   Approximately 500 metres

down Racecourse Road, the Racecourse is on the left over the railway line.

Pakenham Train staion is opposite the Racecourse.

Memberships for the Pakenham Picnic Racing Club are sold for $25. which is for a member and guest.

Membership entitles the member to entry on Race day with access to the Members Reserve, and gives Voting rights at the

Annual General Meeting.
