The 2013/14 Season at the Werribee Racing Club sees the Club’s marquee event, the Werribee Cup, return to Spring after six (6) years absence and will be held on the Wednesday following Melbourne Cup week – Wednesday 13th November.   This will once again mean that the Club will play an important role in the highly successful Spring Racing Carnival along with other major Provincial Cup meetings including the Geelong Cup, followed by Bendigo, Kyneton, Werribee and Ballarat.

The Werribee Racing Club will be holding 9 race meetings throughout the season which include our four (4) Premium Event Days and also the return of the highly regarded Community Clubs Race Day

Reciprocal Rights:

The Werribee Racing Club understands the importance of reciprocal rights at other racing venues and as a result has for season 2013/14 negotiated with the three (3) Metropolitan Clubs & selected Interstate Clubs to provide an increased reciprocal rights program for our Members totalling 55 days throughout the season.

Bulban Road, Werribee




A bus service runs regularly from Melbourne to Werribee. On Werribee Cup Day a shuttle bus service operates between the station and the racecourse. Please see website for details of this service.
Werribee Racecourse is a 25 minute / 32 kilometre leisurely drive from Melbourne via the Princes Highway. From the Princes Highway, take the Werribee turn-off and drive through Werribee, turning left just past the railway line into Cottrell Street. At the round-about turn left into Bulban Road where parking is available 500 metres on the right-hand side. Public parking is available on Werribee Cup Day and ‘Kids Day Out’ via Ballan Road.
A train service runs regularly from Melbourne to Werribee. The train station is approximately 3km from the racecourse.

Werribee Park 

The Chirnside family originally owned much of the Werribee Plains and built Werribee Park Mansion in the late 1870s. The colonial homestead is Victoria’s largest private residence and has become one of state’s major tourist attractions after it was purchased by the State Government of Victoria and restored to its original splendour. 

See how one of Victoria’s richest families lived on this twelve-hectare property. Journey into the world of contemporary sculpture with a stroll through Werribee Park Sculpture Walk’s interesting collection of work by Australia’s leading sculptors. Inhale the perfume of 5,000 roses at Victoria State Rose Garden (best from November to April). 

Wildlife and adventure 

Come face-to-face with giraffes, zebras, wallabies and emus at Werribee Open Range Zoo. View the largest collection of military aircraft in the southern hemisphere at RAAF Museum in Point Cook. Go walking in the You Yangs Regional Park and discover Aboriginal rock wells on Big Rock.
