Yarra Valley Racing

Yarra Valley Racing is back and racing. With a successful 2013-14 season just completed and after completing capital works of over $4.1 million in the past two years prior, patrons are sure to be amazed at all the improvements to customer facilities undertaken. Yarra Valley Racing has a strong reputation for conducting quality events and the Club is very keen to ensure that 2014-15 sees the Club back to its rightful place as Victoria’s leading country racing venue. Whether you are looking for a get together for family, friends or work colleagues, we can outline some wonderful events and hospitality packages on offer – including some new and exciting menu upgrade options for our Corporate Marquees. If you are unsure of what you want for your special day or you have something different in mind, please contact one of our friendly trained staff who will be more than happy to help you decide the best packages to suit your group. The popular social Cub packages at our harness meetings will continue in 2014-15. The success of theses packages has prompted the Club to provide similar packages at some of our thoroughbred meetings. These packages provide a great opportunity for groups to have a social outing in a comfortable environment. We are very pleased to provide you with these event and hospitality options and encourage you to get to Yarra Valley Racing in 2014-15 and experience real country racing at it’s best.

In 1858 racing in the Yarra Valley commenced at a track built at Brushy Creek in an area then known as Yarra Flats.

In the 1890’s the area became known as Yarra Glen and the Yarra Glen Racing Club operated from that time.

The Club owned the freehold until 1972 when the Yarra Glen Racing Club transferred its land ownership to the Victorian Government and the Healesville Trotting Club relocated and became a co-tenant as the Yarra Glen Harness Racing Club.

In 2004 the Yarra Glen Racing Club Inc and the Yarra Valley Harness Racing Club Inc amalgamated to form Yarra Valley Racing Inc.
